Ready to Battle at the Last Great Coliseum

IN THE SPOTLIGHT: Brandon Jones is coming off a solid top-10 in Mid-Ohio and the No. 19 team heads back to the last great colosseum, Bristol Motor Speedway for the second time this season.  Their earlier race there produced leading 19 laps, and if not for a blown tire, they were poised to win the 300-lap race.  Last year he was in a similar position and led a career-high 106-laps. This will be Jones’ ninth NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) career-start on the 0.533-mile high-banked concrete oval.  He also draws experience from starts in the NASCAR Gander Outdoor Truck Series and the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East.  Jones and the No. 19 team have high expectations for Bristol and are looking to capture the win that narrowly eluded them in the Spring.

JGR AT BRISTOL MOTOR SPEEDWAY: JGR has 96 total starts at Bristol Motor Speedway in the NXS, earning 13 wins, 32 top-five finishes, 47 top-10 finishes and 10 pole-starting positions. The team has led 3,034 laps and earned an average start of 11.3 and an average finish of 14.4.

RACE INFO: Food City 300 at Bristol Motor Speedway (.533-mile) begins at 7:30 p.m.ET on Friday, August 16, 2019.  The race will be broadcast live on NBCSN, SiriusXM Channel 90 and PRN Radio.

Brandon Jones: “I’m really proud of my No. 19 team for getting our Menards Supra back in the fight after having some damage in Mid-Ohio last weekend. I felt like we did what we needed to do last weekend in collecting some stage points and getting a top-10 finish. I’m really excited to head to Bristol this weekend. I always circle that race on my calendar as it’s one of my favorite tracks. Last year we came so close to winning the spring race, so our team feels an extra bit of confidence any time we’re able to come back. It’s definitely going to be a competitive race and I expect both my JGR teammates, Kyle Busch and Christopher Bell, to be stout, but I feel like our Menards/Soleus team has the ability to run competitively with them. Hopefully we’ll be able to finish out the weekend with a solid top-five finish and even racing for the win.”
