Representing the 39th Infantry Brigade in Daytona

NASCAR SALUTES: For the fifth year in a row, the NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) teams will salute and display the names of active military units and installations on their race car windshields during Friday’s Circle K Firecracker 250 at Daytona International Speedway.

BRANDON JONES:  Jones will proudly display the 39th Infantry Brigade Combat Team on his No. 19 Menards / Orca Coolers Toyota Supra this 4th of July weekend. This is a huge honor for Jones and the 19 team because of the personal connection with his cousin Sgt. Aaron Jones.  Sgt. Jones is currently serving with that unit in the Arkansas Army National Guard.

JONES AT DAYTONA INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY:  Jones is coming off of a very strong weekend at Chicagoland Speedway with two top-five finishes in the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series and the NXS. This will be Jones’ eighth start on the 2.5-mile high-banked Superspeedway and he finished a strong third place when he crossed the finish line in February. This has been a good track for Jones posting one top-five and three top-10 finishes and leading nine laps.  He also captured his first pole in 2017.

JGR AT DAYTONA INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY: JGR has 91 total starts at Daytona International Speedway in the NXS, earning four wins, 21 top-five finishes, 36 top-10 finishes and nine pole starting positions. The team has led 628 laps, completed 9,275 of 10,284 attempted laps (90.0%) and earned an average start of 10.5 and an average finish of 17.0. Tony Stewart (2008), Denny Hamlin (2008), Joey Logano (2011) and Matt Kenseth (2013) each have one win for JGR in the series.

RACE INFO: Circle KFirecracker 250 at Daytona International Speedway is scheduled for Friday, July 5, 2019 at 7:30 p.m. ET. Watch and listen live on NBCSN, SiriusXM Channel 90 and MRN Radio.

From the Cockpit:

Brandon Jones: “After running so well in Chicago with two top-five finishes in both the Xfinity Series and Truck Series, I have my eyes set on Daytona. Earlier this season, we had a really strong run there, so we have a good starting point to build off of this weekend. Our Menards / Orca team is ready to go.  On a personal level, this is going to be one of the biggest weekends I’ve had in my career. Being able to represent the 39th Infantry Brigade where my cousin SGT Aaron Jones serves with the U.S. Army National Guard and having that unit’s name across my windshield means so much to me. I’ll be doing a lot of studying this week, learning how to use the draft to my advantage and making sure that I’m ready to go when the green flag waves on Friday.”
