Racing to Remember Friends in Iowa

JONES AT IOWA SPEEDWAY: Brandon Jones is coming off a solid top-10 finish, winning his first stage and leading laps at one of his most challenging tracks last weekend at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.  The No. 19 team will be taking that momentum into another short track at Iowa Speedway.  This is the second race this season there in a matter of six weeks.  Jones will be piloting the No. 19 Menards / Atlas Toyota Supra. This is his eighth start in the NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) on the .875-mile short-track.  Jones is no stranger to the Newton, Iowa track and has a strong track record there with four starts in the Truck Series earning two solid top-five finishes, four starts in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East earning a win in 2014 followed up with three top-10 finishes, and one start in the Menards ARCA Racing Series starting third, leading 31 laps. This stand-alone NXS weekend is a race that the 19 team knows they can come home with a solid top-five finish or better.

SPECIAL TRIBUTE:  The No. 19 team will run a special decal on their C-post this weekend in remembrance of Sue Karli a longtime friend and partner know across the NASCAR community.

SPONSOR: Jones and the No. 19 JGR team will be running the Menards/Atlas paint scheme for the upcoming NXS race at Iowa Speedway this weekend.  This will be the ninth of 13 races for Menards.

JGR AT IOWA: JGR has 55 NXS starts at Iowa Speedway and has earned seven wins, 22 top-five and 35 top-10 finishes. The championship-winning organization has won eight poles, led 1,714 laps and has an average start of 6.5 with an average finish of 9.6

Brandon Jones:  “We are getting back on track after leading some laps in New Hampshire and finishing inside the top-10. I’m excited to get back to Iowa Speedway—I’ve always enjoyed racing there and have had some great runs at that track over the years. Christopher has been dominant the last few times we’ve been there, so I’m going to pay close attention to what he’s doing on the simulator before we get to the track. I have a little extra motivation to run well this weekend for two extremely close friends that we recently lost, Sue Karli and Nick Harrison. I’m excited to get back to the track with our Menards / Atlas Supra, put in another strong run and improve our stats for the year.”
