The Money Lion 300 at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway is the ninth event of the 33-race NASCAR Xfinity Series schedule and the first with Brandon Jones sporting the 1st Foundation livery on the No. 19 Toyota Supra of Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR).
In three Xfinity Series starts at Talladega, Jones has one top-five finish. In last year’s Sparks Energy 300, Jones finished second to earn his career-best Xfinity Series result. Jones also scored a second-place finish in his only NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series start at Talladega in 2015.
In eight races this season, Jones has picked up two top-fives and four top-10s. The 22-year-old driver began the year with a third-place finish at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway, his best result so far in 2019.
Jones made his Xfinity Series debut on May 17, 2015 at Iowa Speedway in Newton where he started fifth and finished eighth. Now in his third full-time Xfinity Series season, the Atlanta-native has five top-fives, 38 top-10s and two poles in 110 career starts.
JGR has accumulated 157 Xfinity Series wins since first competing in the series back in 1997 with driver Bobby Labonte. JGR has won so many Xfinity races it now holds the record for the most wins at 16 of the 25 different tracks where the series actively competes.

Talladega is considered by many to be a wild-card race, but you’ve had some success there. What should everyone expect to see from the 1st Foundation team this weekend at Talladega?
“Despite having two bad finishes recently, our No. 19 team has not lost sight of how competitive we’ve been this year. We’re excited to be headed to Talladega with 1st Foundation on board. It’s going to be a very special weekend for us since it’s our first race with 1st Foundation and a hometown race for their company, Xtreme Concepts. Our No. 19 team has had a lot of success at Talladega Superspeedway, so we’re ready to head into the weekend and get back on track. We learned a lot at Daytona to start the season, which I expect will strengthen our superspeedway program throughout this year. My teammates and I worked really well together there, so we’ll be on the same page again this weekend and look forward to getting back on track with a solid finish.”
