Ready to Face the Unknown at Charlotte’s Roval

IN THE SPOTLIGHT: You can throw away all the statistics from all the previous races at Charlotte Motor Speedway (CMS) and get set for the much-anticipated inaugural ROVAL debut on the newly constructed 2.28-mile course with its 17 turns this weekend. This challenging road course will be the second race in the playoffs for the NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) in the Round of 12. This Saturday’s 55-lap free-for-all will definitely be the wild card that can control the contenders’ aspirations for the NXS championship.

JUNIPER’S FUTURE RACES WITH JGR: This is Juniper Networks third season with JGR and they will be the primary sponsor for Jones this weekend at CMS and for one more at the finale at Homestead (Nov. 17).

ABOUT JUNIPER NETWORKS: Juniper is the industry leader in network innovation, and provider of technology to JGR to improve the racing organization’s network infrastructure for better performance on and off the track through its Juniper Networks® MetaFabric architecture, with next-generation switching and security solutions. RACE INFO: Drive for the Cure 200 at CMS (2.28-mile, roval) begins at 3:00 p.m. ET on Saturday, September 29. The race will be broadcast live on NBCSN, SiriusXM Channel 90 and PRN Radio.

From the Cockpit:
Brandon Jones: “The roval is going to be a big unknown for all the drivers in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. Earning another top-10 finish in Richmond gave us more confidence as we head to the wildcard. This is the second race of the playoffs, so we will still have one more race before the next cut-off and the round of 8 begins. We will have a lot of virtual laps at the Roval using the TRD Simulator before we arrive for the test on Thursday. Having that test day is going to be critical for all the teams because it’s an opportunity to get a lot of track time. Honestly, I’m not sure what to expect for the weekend, but our Juniper Networks team is focused on coming out with the best finish we can and heading to Dover for the last race in the Round of 12.”

From the Pit Box:
Chris Gabehart: “Richmond didn’t entirely go as we hoped but we got out of there with a decent finish and now turn our focus to race two of the first round of the playoffs… the ROVAL at Charlotte Motor Speedway. For this inaugural event the unknowns far outweigh the knowns for everyone. It truly is going to be an unprecedented must see event that nobody will be able to predict. We look forward to the challenge of coming out of this event better than we entered it in the playoff standings.”
