Ready for Another Strong Run in Iowa

JONES AT IOWA SPEEDWAY: Brandon Jones was able to tame one of his most challenging tracks last weekend at New Hampshire Motor Speedway with a career-high sixth place finish. The No. 19 team will be taking great momentum going into another short track at Iowa Speedway. This is the second race this season there in a matter of six weeks. They posted a very impressive top-five finish back in June. Jones will be piloting the No. 19 Menards/Tide Toyota Camry. This is his eighth start in the Xfinity series on the .875-mile short-track in the middle of Iowa. Jones is no stranger to the Newton, Iowa track and has a strong track record there with four starts in the Camping World Truck Series earning two solid top-five finishes, four starts in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East earning a win in 2014 followed up with three top-10 finishes, and one start in the ARCA Racing Series starting third, leading 31 laps and finishing 11th. This stand-alone Xfinity Series weekend is a race that has been circled on the 19 team’s schedule and they expect to come home with a solid top-five or better.

SPONSOR: Jones and the No. 19 JGR team will be running the Menards/Tide paint scheme for the upcoming NXS race at Iowa Speedway this weekend.

JGR AT IOWA: JGR has 49 NXS starts at Iowa Speedway and has earned five wins, 18 top-five and 31 top-10 finishes. The championship-winning organization has won eight poles, led 1,428 laps and has an average start of 6.5 with an average finish of 10.1.

RACE INFO: The US Cellular 250 at Iowa Speedway begins at 5:20 p.m. ET on Saturday, July 28, 2018. The race will be broadcast live on NBCSN, SiriusXM 90, and MRN Radio.

From the Cockpit:
Brandon Jones: “Every time I’m asked which track is my favorite, I always think of Iowa Speedway. The track has multiple grooves, and because of that, it produces some great racing. We have had some great runs there in the past—a K&N Series win in 2014, laps led with the ARCA Racing Series, two solid top-five finishes in the Camping World Truck Series and three top-10 finishes in the Xfinity Series, to include our most recent fifth-place finish there just last month. Our No. 19 Menards/Tide Toyota team has a pretty good notebook going into this race and a good understanding of what to expect this weekend. I think we’ll be in a great position to improve on our run at Iowa Speedway last month and bring home another solid finish.”

From the Pit Box:
Chris Gabehart: “Coming off of a very strong run at one of Brandon’s worst tracks in Loudon and going to one of his and JGR’s best tracks in Iowa, we are very excited to get back to the Midwest and try our hand in the Menards/Tide Toyota Camry this weekend. We feel like if we do everything right and execute well for a whole race that this may be Brandon’s best opportunity to win so far this year. We are looking forward to the challenge.”
