This will be a huge weekend for the 21-year old Atlanta, Georgia native. He has been on a roll coming off his fourth consecutive top-10 finish, his first pole with JGR and a very impressive third place finish in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series last weekend with Kyle Busch Motorsports. He also tested his No. 19 Xfinity Camry earlier this month at CMS and will be running the ARCA race this weekend in conjunction with the Xfinity race.

From the Cockpit

“Coming off a top 10 run at Dover in the Xfinity Series and then getting a third-place finish in the Truck Series at Charlotte really has boosted my confidence. My team and I recently sat down and set some quarterly goals, which I feel will help us take the next step. Obviously our season-long goal is to make the playoffs, but these quarterly goals help break down that big goal into smaller pieces that are easier to attain on a step-by-step basis. As we prepare for Charlotte, I’m really going to focus on my line. The track has one of the trickiest turn 3 layouts on the circuit—arcing the corner too much, using too much throttle and not enough brakes can all be a big factor for that turn. We made a lot of laps during the Charlotte test a few weeks ago, so I’m excited to see how we unload with our Menards/Jeld-Wen Camry on Thursday afternoon.” – Brandon Jones

From the Pit Box

“With the two week break behind us, we are all looking forward to getting back over to Charlotte Motor Speedway for our first home race of the 2018 NASCAR Xfinity Season. The No.19 Menards/Jeld-Wen Toyota team had a great test over at the speedway during the off weeks, and because of that we feel confident we can continue building off of the momentum we had established over the previous five races of the season.” – Chris Gabehart
