NASCAR NCWTS Series – UNOH 200
August 16, 2017 – Bristol Motor Speedway
No. 99 HTPG Refrigeration Products Chevrolet Silverado
Wednesday’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) UNOH 200 at the (0.500) half-mile Bristol Motor Speedway located in Bristol, Tenn., provided one of the season’s most exciting races of the year. MDM Motorsports, coming off a win at Michigan International Speedway, was poised for another solid run.
NASCAR XFINITY Series regular Brandon Jones returned to the seat of the No. 99 HTPG Refrigeration Products Chevrolet for event. Jones had three straight NCWTS top-10s entering the UNOH 200. He qualified the HTPG Refrigeration Products Chevrolet fifth and raced within the top-10 most of the evening. He went on to finish 10th, this fourth straight top-10 NCWTS finish.
“I really hoped that we had a little more for them in our No. 99 HTPG Refrigeration Products Chevrolet,” said Jones. “We had a strong truck all day and I really thought we could have made a run for the win tonight. Unfortunately, we just lacked track position there at the end and that was definitely one of the keys to success to get a strong finish tonight. Still, I’m really proud of the effort that our MDM Motorsports team has put forward this year. They’ve built us strong trucks every time we’ve race together, and we’ve had some great runs. I wish that I could’ve gotten to victory lane with them in the truck series, but we still have one more ARCA race left, so we’ll try to bring home another ‘W’ there.”
