NASCAR XFINITY Series – General Tire #AnywhereIsPossible 200
June 10, 2017 – Pocono Raceway
No. 8 Anderson’s Pure Maple Syrup Chevrolet Camaro
On Wednesday afternoon, ARS teams had the opportunity to test at the 2.5-mile speedway. Testing was delayed due to weather, but when it cleared, Brandon Jones driving for MDM Motorsports ran the fastest lap of the day. On Friday, Jones backed up the speed he showed in the test and was fastest in ARS final practice. Sheldon Creed, making his first Pocono Raceway start, was sixth quick and fellow rookie teammate Vinnie Miller, also making his first start at the Tricky Triangle, was 13th quick.

Brandon Jones made his first ARS start of the 2017 season in Friday’s General Tire #AnythingIsPossible200 at Pocono Raceway. He started on the pole after ARS officials made the decision to set the field by practice speeds after a competitor wrecked late in qualifying. Jones led 15 laps before a cut tire forced him to pit under green. He battled back to finish second.
“Today was pretty disappointing. Our Anderson’s Maple Syrup Chevrolet was a really strong car and I know we were capable of getting the win today. Having that cut tire and needing to pit under green really put us behind. We had to use some pit strategy to get back up to the front, and unfortunately, we weren’t able to take four tires when everyone else did. Although, knowing how strong our car was this weekend makes me excited for next weekend’s race at Michigan. Hopefully we’ll be able to repeat our win there and get back to victory lane.”
The ARS returns to action on Friday, June 16 at Michigan International Speedway located in Brooklyn, Mich., for the running of the Corrigan Oil 200 live on FOX Sports 1.
