NASCAR XFINITY Series – Pocono Green 250
June 10, 2017 – Pocono Raceway
No. 33 Anderson’s Maple Syrup Chevrolet Camaro
Brandon Jones and the No. 33 Anderson’s Maple Syrup Chevrolet team finished 36th at Pocono Raceway on Saturday afternoon. After starting in the 17th position, Jones was making his way toward the front of the field in Saturday’s 250-mile race. While running in the __ position, Jones felt a vibration in his steering wheel and reported a tire going down to his team. Poised to come down pit road the next time by, the left rear tire on Jones’ machine let go sending the Anderson’s Maple Syrup Chevrolet into the Turn 1 inside wall. Stuck in the grass with significant damage, Jones was forced to get out of the car, officially ending the race for the No. 33 team.
“I just can’t believe how terrible of luck we have with this No. 33 team. Our Anderson’s Maple Syrup Chevrolet Camaro was doing well all day, and we had our pit strategy playing out to where we would secure a great finish if we could make it cleanly through the race. I don’t know why the tire blew out, but I felt the steering wheel start shaking with just those handful of laps remaining. As soon as I realized what it was and reported the tire going down to my team, it was too late and I made contact with the inside wall of Turn 1. We had a great day going, but once again it just didn’t pan out. Our luck has to turn around sometime soon.”
Jones currently sits 17th in NASCAR XFINITY Series driver point standings. Next, the series will travel to Michigan International Speedway on Saturday, June 17 for the Michigan 250. FS1 will carry a live broadcast of the event beginning at 1:30 p.m. ET, while radio coverage will be provided by MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, channel 90.
