No. 33 Freightliner Chevrolet Camaro
Brandon Jones brought home another 15th-place finish in the No. 33 Freightliner Chevrolet on Saturday afternoon at Texas Motor Speedway. After starting the race in the 15th position, Jones was able to earn his first stage points during the race’s second stage while running in the fifth position. The Freightliner Chevrolet sustained minor front-end damage during a multi-car pile-up on lap 67, which left the No. 33 team to make repairs on pit road. Ultimately, Jones was caught a lap behind the leaders making it difficult to regain ground as the race progressed primarily under green-flag conditions.
“We had a really good handling No. 33 Freightliner Chevrolet Camaro this weekend. We just seem to be having a no-luck season. Once I figured out the track reconfiguration in practice, we were able to get the balance dialed in really well. Unfortunately, someone hit us when I was avoiding that wreck in the middle of the race so that cost us some track position. The damage wasn’t too bad so we were able to finish Stage Two and grab our first bonus points of the season. We just didn’t get the finish we expected due to how the pit stops cycled through, so we’ll all keep working hard and look for luck to turn in our favor.”
Jones currently sits 13th in NASCAR XFINITY Series driver point standings. Next up for the NASCAR XFINITY Series is a stop at Bristol Motor Speedway for the Fitzgerald Glider Kits 300 on Saturday, April 22. FS1 will carry a live broadcast of the event beginning at 1 p.m. ET, while radio coverage will be provided by PRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, channel 90.
