NASCAR XFINITY Series – Ticket Galaxy 200
November 13, 2016 – Phoenix International Speedway
No. 33 Okuma Chevrolet Camaro
Brandon Jones and the No. 33 Okuma Chevrolet team finished 18th at Phoenix International Raceway on Saturday night. After starting in the 16th position, Jones found himself fighting the balance of his Chevrolet throughout the 200-mile main event. With his car both loose and tight at different times throughout the evening, Jones and his Okuma team utilized strategy to pick up ground on the one-mile oval in the Arizona desert.
“It was a pretty rough outing tonight at Phoenix International Raceway. I thought we were going to have a good night based off how we ran in practice, but we could never get the balance right on the Okuma Chevrolet. We have never raced here at night in the XFINITY Series and never got to practice in these conditions, so that threw us for a little bit of a loop. We were on both sides of the spectrum in terms of handling throughout the night. We used some pit strategy to get back to the front, but got shuffled out on the late restart and fought our way to 18th by the time the checkered flag flew. We have one more race, so we’ll move on to Homestead-Miami Speedway and see what we can get there.”
The XFINITY Series will travel to Homestead-Miami Speedway for the final race of the 2016 race season, the Ford EcoBoost 300, on Saturday, November 19. NBCSN will broadcast the race live at 3:30 p.m. ET, while radio coverage will be provided by MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, channel 90.
