Brandon Jones Makes NCWTS Series Debut At Phoenix

NASCAR Camping World Truck Series – Lucas Oil 150
November 7, 2014 – Phoenix International Raceway
Brandon Jones, No. 33 Russell / ColdZone Refrigeration Chevrolet Silverado

Brandon Jones will make his first career start at Phoenix (Ariz.) International Raceway in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series this weekend in the Lucas Oil 150. Jones has made one start at Phoenix International Raceway in November 2013 with the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West (NKNPSW), where he raced to a 17th-place finish. The Lucas Oil 150 will mark his fifth NASCAR Camping World Truck Series start of the 2014 season for Jones, and his second appearance with GMS Racing. The 17-year-old finished fourth in his only other one-mile NASCAR Camping World Truck Series track at Dover (Del.) International Speedway earlier this season.

Brandon will pilot chassis No. 19 at Phoenix International Raceway on Friday night, prepared by crew chief Shane Huffman. This Chevrolet Silverado is brand new to the GMS Racing stable, but was previously raced at Richard Childress Racing (RCR).

Phoenix International Raceway is a fun place to race, and I’m looking forward to getting on-track this weekend. It’s one of the most unique tracks on the NASCAR Camping World truck Series schedule with the newer surface and the banked dogleg in the backstretch. I feel confident that Shane (Huffman) and the GMS Racing team have a great No. 33 Russell / ColdZone Refrigeration Chevrolet prepared this week. It’s a short race, so we’ll have to put the right pit strategy together to maintain track position all night. We had good speed at Martinsville Speedway and we’re focused on continuing that performance into this weekend. – Brandon Jones
